Polycem Gasblock Fluid Loss Reducer with Gas-Blocking Properties

ToR 2458-065-97457491-2012

Polycem Gasblock is a reagent based on synthetic sulphonated polymers and intended for reducing the fluid loss of grouting mortars and preventing behind-the-casing migration of reservoir fluids.

Application

Polycem Gasblock is intended for application in the casing of oil, gas condensate, and gas wells for the purpose of efficiently reducing the fluid loss of cement grout. Polycem Gasblock retards an increment in the limit gel strength of grouting mortars and thus favors the transfer of the hydrostatic head to the bottomhole. At the end of the retarded increment in the limit gel strength Polycem Gasblock produces the rapid setting of cement grout and thus prevents the gas from penetrating the borehole annulus. The reagent does not extend the cementation period, remains functional at temperatures of up to 210°Ñ, and does not thicken the grout. The additive is highly resistant to salts of single-valent and multivalent metals and shows itself as efficient in salt-saturated cement grouts.

Processing

Polycem Gasblock is added to the dry cement mixture and can be added, as required, to the tempering water of grouting mortar. The consumption of Polycem Gasblock is determined by selecting, first of all, the mortar cement mixture composition. The tentative dosages range from 0.3 to 0.5% to dry cement weight for efficiently reducing the fluid loss indicator and from 0.6 to 0.8% to dry cement weight for preventing behind-the-casing migration of reservoir fluids.

Packaging

The Polycem Gasblock additive for reducing the water and gas permeability of cement stone is packaged in 25-kg polypropylene bags with a polyethylene liner.
