Application

Polygel KSM is a water- and gas-insulating material intended for eliminating complications at drilling, major overhaul of and repair-and-renewal operations on oil and gas wells. In these cases, Polygel KSM allowsinsulating water-bearing horizons; eliminating behind-the-casing flows; sealing and strengthening destroyed cementing operation zones; ensuring volumetric water shutoff; hardening (gelifying) water lenses and pools in productive structures.

Processing

Polygel KSM has two powder-like components supplied in separate tare. They are both mixed and suspended in water at a ratio of 1:3–1:4 at optimal temperatures of 20–40°Ñ and constantly stirred for 2–3 hours. The controllable period when Polygel KSM remains a mineralized and highly penetrative solution ranges from 6 to 24 hours. The reagent is pumped into the repair operation zone, cured under pressure for 24 hours, and then transforms into a strong gel so that the irreversible clogging of cracks and cavities occurs. In case of hardening water-containing subterranean lenses and pools the compound is supplied concentrated in a water-free conveyance agent. As soon as the required reagent-to-water ratio of 1:4 is attained, volumetric gelification occurs. The resulting gel has good adhesion and resistance to aggressive media.

Packaging

Polygel KSM is supplied in 25-kg polypropylene bags with a polyethylene liner.
