Weighting agents for drilling fluids are the largest-capacity materials used in gas and gas condensate well construction, The consumption of these compounds while driving through beds with a high reservoir pressure ranges from 50 to 250 tons per 100 m3 of drilling fluid. This is why, the quality and amount of weighting agents determines the range and consumption of chemical reagents, the drilling pace, and the number of emergencies.OJSC Polycell RPA produces the following kinds of weighting agents for drilling fluids of various densities and purpose: oxygen-soluble marble weighting agent (MR-1, MR-2, MR-3, MR-4), oxygen-soluble siderite weighting agent (SB-1, SB-2, SB-3), barytic weighting agent (KB-3, KB-5, KB-6), galena weighting agent (GK-1, GK-2, GK-3).

Product specs

Weighting agents are finely dispersed powders w/o abrasive properties and not interacting with other components of drilling fluids.

Application

The represented weighting agents allow achieving various densities of drilling fluids and preserving them pumpable with drilling pumps. The respective drilling fluid density is determined by the selected kind of weighting agent: the maximal achievable density of drilling fluids processed with MR-1, MR-2, MR-3, MR-4 is 1.45 g/cm3; the maximal achievable density of drilling fluids processed with SB-1, SB-2, SB-3 is 1.6 g/cm3; the maximal achievable density of drilling fluids processed with KB-3, KB-5, KB-6 is 2.4 g/cm3; the maximal achievable density of drilling fluids processed with GK-1, GK-2, GK-3 is 3 g/cm3 or higher.

Processing

The necessary amount of weighting agent is determined by calculation.

Packaging

Weighting agents are packaged in special-purpose 1 m3 disposable FIBC containers.
