Properties

Polycem GYPSUM is used as a plugging material for controlling highly intensive rinsing fluid losses in low-temperature ranges and in permafrost rock zones during oil and gas well drilling and repairs, for eliminating casing leakages and recovering cement stone sealing, and also for water shutoff in certain conditions.

Processing

The elimination of disastrous lost circulations with the help of Polycem GYPSUM consists in making a tempering fluid with a retarder additive and consumption of 3.5 to 5 kg/m3, which depends on the required thickening start time. Polycem GYPSUM solution is made in a mixing and averaging system at a W/S ratio of 0.7. The density of the thoroughly mixed solution must range from 1 500 to 1 550 kg/m3. Then the solution is pumped along the tube side to a required interval on equilibrium. Then the tool is elevated to a safe depth, the rinsing in a volume of 2 to 3 m3 is started, and the well is closed for 3–4 hours for the mixture to harden. After the maintenance procedure is finished, the wellbore is rinsed and tested under a hydraulic pressure expected in further construction, and the drilling is continued.

Packaging

Polycem GYPSUM is packaged in 25-kg polypropylene bags with a polyethylene liner.
