Polyplug Filler for Drilling Fluids

ÒoR 2458-043-56864391-2010

Polyplug filling reagents are intended for preventing and eliminating drilling fluid circulation losses.Polyplug fillers consist of fibrous and flaky materials of organic origin, granular mineral fillers and polymeric modifiers of natural and synthetic origin and ensure the reinforcedfilling of pores, cracks, and cavities, and accelerated claying of the screen being formed. The filler is evenly distributed across the entire process fluid volume, without floating up or sinking out.

Application

Polyplug fillers are used to prevent and eliminate drilling fluid circulation losses when drilling out drained and highly permeable granular and granular-fissured reservoirs, and also for reducing the probability of drilling pressure stickings of the drill string. Polyplug fillers efficiently plug up permeable reservoirs and minimally affect the flow properties of drilling fluids. Unlike mineral colmataging fillers, Polyplug fillers have low density, which allows using them in various lightweight drilling fluid compounds and foam systems.

Processing and consumption

The reagent’s consumption ranges from 10 to 30 kg per cubic meter of drilling fluid. The recommended consumption of Polyplug for preventing drilling fluid circulation and filtration losses ranges from 5 to 20 kg per cubic meter. To eliminate already registered drilling fluid circulation losses, it is necessary to increase the consumption of this filler up to 40–60 kg per cubic meter of drilling fluid. Polyplug fillers are efficient in use as the main filler of visco-elastic compounds (VEC) pumped into the well as blocking members for eliminating drilling fluid circulation losses.

Packaging

Polyplug 1–5 fillers for drilling fluids are packaged in 15–20-kg polypropylene bags with a polyethylene liner, whereas Polyplug B10-B30 are packaged in 7–7.5-kg polypropylene bags with a polyethylene liner.
