Ferrochromolignosulfonate (FCL)
Technical Specifications ÒÓ 2454-028-97457491-2010
Ferrochromolignosulfonate (FCL) is designed to regulate rheological characteristics of process fluids with increased content of solid phase that are used for drilling and well workover, as a heat-resistant downhole filtration reducer.

Application
FCL is an effective dispersant in all drilling fluid systems under alkaline pH conditions. The negatively charged lignosulfonate ion interacts with the positively charged edges of clay particles, thus preventing their aggregation. Introducing FCL in alkaline aqueous solution minimizes high-temperature gelation of clay drilling fluids. Introduction of dry FCL ensures secondary control of fluid loss and a good oil dispersant. Effective as a liquefier at temperatures of up to 150°C.
Treatment
The reagent consumption is determined by many factors: temperature, salinity and colloidal phase content. Approximate reagent consumption is 5-17 kg per 1 m? of drilling fluid.
Packaging
FCL reagent for drilling fluids is packed into 20-25 kg polypropylene bags with polyethylene liner.Back
