Polycem Gasblock additive

Polycem Gasblock is a reagent based on synthetic sulphated polymers, designed to reduce filtration of backfilling solutions and prevent formation fluid migration behind the casing.

Application

The additive is designed for use in technological processes of oil, gas condensate and gas well casing, in order to effectively reduce cement slurry filtration. It slows down the increase in the ultimate gel strength of backfilling slurries, thus contributing to the transfer of hydrostatic pressure to the downhole. At the end of the period of slow increase in the ultimate gel strength it causes rapid setting of the cement slurry, preventing gas penetration into the space behind the string.The reagent does not have the effect of slowing down the setting time of cement slurry, retains operation capability at temperatures up to 210°C and does not thicken the slurry.The additive is effective with salt-saturated cement slurries (salts of univalent and polyvalent metals).

 

Treatment

The additives are introduced into the dry cement mix. When required, the additives may be introduced into the backfilling slurry mixing water. The consumption of additives is determined based on preliminary selection of the cement slurry mixture composition.Approximate dosages: 0.3-0.5% of dry cement weight to effectively reduce the filtration index and 0.6-0.8% of dry cement weight to prevent migration of formation fluids through the cement stone.

 

Packaging

Polycem Gazblock additive for reducing fluid loss and gas permeability of cement stone is packed into 25 kg polypropylene bags with polyethylene liner.
