Application

Polygel-KSM is a water- and gas-insulating material and is designed to eliminate complications during drilling, workover and repair-and-renewal operations of oil and gas wells in the following cases: water bed isolation; elimination of behind-the-casing flows; sealing and strengthening of destroyed cementing areas; volumetric waterproofing; hardening (gelation) of water lenses and pools in productive structures.

 

Treatment

Polygel-KSM reagent consists of two dry powder components (supplied in separate packages). Both components are mixed and suspended in water (in the ratio of 1:3-1:4) at optimum temperatures of 20–40°C with constant stirring for 2–3 hours. During the regulated periods (6 to 24 hours) Polygel-KSM exists as a solution with a high penetration capacity.The reagent is pumped into the workover area and kept under pressure for 24 hours, after which the fluid turns into a stable gel and irreversibly plugs voids and cracks.When hardening water-containing underground lenses, the composition is delivered in a concentrated form in an anhydrous conveying agent. Volumetric gelation occurs on contact with water. The resulting gel has good adhesion and is resistant to aggressive media.To reduce the time required to prepare gelling composition and to obtain a high-strength pill, Polygel-KSM-NE grade of the reagent is introduced. The cross-linker (component 2) for Polygel-ASM-NE grade is supplied in liquid form.

 

Packaging

The product is supplied in 25 kg polypropylene bags with polyethylene liners. Component 2 of Polygel-ASM-NE grade is supplied in 30 kg canisters or 200 kg drums.
